Talking with the Boys

Well it’s 9:30, and I just spent the last hour getting the kids to bed.  Harrison (3), Isaiah (5), and I spent most of the time just talking.  We talked about the weather and what causes the rain.  And, who is this Mother Nature person anyway!  We talked about God and how he didn’t exactly “make” the weather, but how he caused the world to exist and to be the way it is.  We talked about babies that aren’t born yet and how they eat by getting nourishment from Mommy’s blood after her stomach breaks the food down into little pieces that you can’t even see.  Now that I think of it I should have told them about the placenta… oh well.  We talked about how only girls can have babies and not boys, but only big girls not little girls – to which Isaiah noted that high school girls are old enough to have babies to which I quickly replied that was still much too young of course.  It was quite a fascinating conversation.

By the way, my kids don’t ask easy questions… ;)

Another follow up – - last night, while Mike was reading Isaiah the latest issue of Archaeology magazine (no joke!) there was a mention of Botox, which Isaiah was quite curious about. So next time he sees you, if he mentions Botox, don’t be offended….he’s just trying to use his new knowledge!
