Babies Come From Blueberries……

So Isaiah says!  In his best five year old line of thinking, Isaiah explained to Mike and me the other day that babies come from blueberries….because blueberries are as small as your eye…..and babies start out as small as your eye.  Therefore, babies must come from blueberries.  Ponderous, isn’t it?  Then a few days later, he asked me if there was a nicer word for boobs.  Oh the joys of raising a young boy while nursing an infant……

The long awaited photos and important details are finally making it online!  Sorry, I’ve been a little busy lately.     Oddly enough, the day I wrote my last blog posting about being loved is the day I went into labor!  How’s that for woman’s intuition???  So I went into labor that night, and a few short hours later, here’s what we had:

Name:  Jillian Meredith Lauer

Size:  small:  7lbs, 2 ounces, 20.5 inches long

Birthday:  July 31, 3:57 am

Made In:  November…ha, ha….better than China!

Care Instructions:  Do not wring or twist.  Lay flat to dry.  I’ve been laughing at this one for a few days now.  Mike thinks I’m a dork for laughing at my own jokes, but if I didn’t – who would?!? 

Things have gone pretty well in the past week or so.  Harrison finally held Jillian over the weekend for the first time!  He didn’t show too much interest up until that point, but maybe he’s starting to realize that she’s here to stay.  I’m sure he’ll take on the Middle Child role quite well.  Isaiah is in love with his sister.  He wants to sit by her, hold her hand, take his picture with her, sit by her in the car, give her a pacifier, and on and on.  He’s a great big brother, and a real help so far.  When he gives her the pacifier and she spits it out, he proudly tells me that “she wants the real thing”.  Pretty sure he learned that one from Daddy.
